The PMC OW 800 is designed to wrap paperboard or lenticular materials around paperboard or plastic containers to create Paper Machinery Corporation's Barrier PlusTM packaging. Depending on materials utilized, these unique wrapped packages can achieve thermal protection, moisture or oxygen protection and product preservation, plus graphic enhancement.

Barrier Plus with thermal protection features a scored outside wrap over a paperboard container. The OW 800 provides in-line heated scoring and debossing of blanks to optimize air space between wrap and container. Another Barrier Plus product features a plastic base container which the OW 800 wraps with either paperboard or lenticular materials. And yet another Barrier Plus package features graphic enhancement with a paperboard or plastic container wrapped with lenticular material. In each case the OW 800's three servo activated glue applicators seal the sleeve and adhere the wrap to the container. The paperboard sleeve can also be secured to the cup without adhesive, so backside promotional information is easily obtained.

Features such as an easy-to-read, color touch-screen operator control, cycle stop and idle mode functions and a variable speed drive with PLC controls ensure efficient container production. Horizontal or vertical feeders provide flexibility for use with in-line cup forming or with pre-formed containers.

The PMC OW 800 wraps containers at a production rate of up to 155 cpm depending upon package size and conversion materials selected.

Plastic container options depend upon gauge and the extent of product preservation needed. Wrap materials most often will be paperboard, with lenticular plastic being an exception. Paperboard options can be either virgin or recycled paperboard and in blank or web form.
