Stuffing mix sold at retail in a folding carton is first put into a bag. Why? Because the product would sift through the carton openings, lose the flavor of the spices and pick up moisture.
Elimination of the bag makes Bread Crumb and stuffing mix easier for the consumer to open, remove product, and reclose. A composite can would work but composite cans are expensive, consume considerable space, and have a high price for shipping.
A better choice is a convolute canister formed in-plant on a PMC 1300 or 1250 series, or PEM 300 machine. Efficient, reliable machinery reduces the operational costs associated with packaging materials, and produces packaging that communicates effectively at retail and is easy for the consumer to use.
