Subject: Improved Handwheel

Recommendations: 

The means to turn a G-1000 machine over forward or backwards, as required for clearing jams, adjusting stations, and installing tools is obtained with a handwheel on the end of the main drive shaft. The turning ratio, and required operator effort, is through a drive gear reduction of 2.5 to 1.0.

While this provision on G-1000 machines has proven quite adequate, we can offer to those customers requiring it, a new Hand Crank Assembly 26478-D having a 12.5 to 1.0 ratio. The obvious advantage is the reduced manual effort required to turn the machine over by hand.

This optional design incorporates an electrical micro safety switch, which precludes operating the machine under power when the handwheel is engaged. The unit is retrofittable to any G-1000 machine

When ordering please denote this service bulletin, and the serial number of the G-1000 machine to be changed. A complete assembly drawing and wiring instructions will be provided.
