DKS to DKC Servo Drive Upgrade   SB 191.1

Service Bulletin: SB 191.1

Subject: DKS to DKC Servo Drive Upgrade

Recommendations:

This service bulletin pertains to all models of machines with bottom or sidewall servo systems that have sales orders #’s from approximately

SO 33374 to SO 60103. These machines were manufactured between August of 1995 and December of 1999.

The replacement cost for the DKS Bottom/Sidewall Servo Systems installed on these PMC machines has increased dramatically over the last couple years. The reason for this increase is that the drive manufacturer (Indramat) is making these drives obsolete. Additionally, most of these parts have a 10 – 12 week lead time.

The cost of the retrofit package that would upgrade the current DKS model servo system to the newer DKC servo system would be approximately

1/3 the cost of replacing the drive/motor with the original equipment.

It is strongly recommended that you upgrade to the latest model to avoid unnecessary expense and down-time.

Please contact Larry Spencer if you have questions about the retrofit package or to get a formal quote on the cost to upgrade your particular machine (please include original SO#).
